GENETICS AUSTRALIA SIRES DOMINATE TOP BULL LISTS
Genetics Australia bulls dominate the top bull lists for all major dairy breeds following the August 2010 ABV release. New 2010 Holstein sensation CARDINAL cemented his position near the top of the Holstein list by jumping to 241 APR, an increase of 36 APR to now rank 4th highest available sire overall for profit and lifted to 114 for Overall Type and 112 for Mammary. He is the only available Holstein in the top 1% of the breed for both APR [profit] and type. Another new 2010 graduate CARLOS lifted in August to become the breed leader for protein at a massive 40kg, a lift of 5kg on his earlier ABV

Genetics Australia has announced the appointment of new director Trevor Henry
Genetics Australia Co-operative, the largest dairy cattle genetics and herd improvement organisation in Australia, has announced the appointment of a new Director to the Board to replace Mr. Wim Kampschoer, who has resigned for personal reasons.
Chairman Colin Gardner named the new director as Trevor Henry from the Maffra region in Victoria.

Genetics Australia and World Wide Sires announce Joint Venture
A quantum shift in Australia’s artificial dairy breeding industry unfolded this week when former competitors Genetics Australia (GA) and World Wide Sires (WWS) announced an aggressive joint venture.
The two businesses have blended their Australian and United States resources, business models and staff within the extension of a third business arm in Australia, Global Sires Pty Ltd.
Global Sires will trade as WWS in Australia and it will be jointly owned by the two (with the majority holding

in GA’s court). The alliance offers Australian dairy farmers unprecedented access to the best home-grown and North American genetics within a single business that promises to rock the industry on its axis and re-align the balance of power.
While GA supplies 60% of Australia’s artificial breeding needs with a strong focus on Australian pedigrees for the Australian environment, WWS represents the majority of the US artificial insemination cooperatives (with strong European alliances) and it brings depth, power and international credibility to the union.
