 25 metre rolls, 48mm wide. This is genuine leg and tail tape, not simply hardware gaffer tape. The tape is non shrink, so does not cut off the circulation when used on cows’ tails. It has a special rubber adhesive which is very tolerant of wet and dirty conditions. Lastly it has a light cloth reinforcement, making it both easy to rip and also highly conformable around the leg or tail – so it does not slip off. Compare this on a price per metre to the other leg and tail tapes on the market! 

Use of Leg and Tail tape:

Leg and tail tape is used as a highly visible 'flag' to identify cows for particular handling.  It may be antibiotic treatment, a new heifer, check for mastitis, colostrum or other reason.  In most herringbone and rotary sheds a leg and tail tape stripe around the rear leg is very visible to the milker.  For walk through sheds and also when used with heat detection devices a strip of leg and tail tape around the tail is very visible.  When leg and tail tape is used on the tail it works best where the tail switch is still in place.  In either case, simply wrap a double layer of tape around the leg or tail (it sticks well to itself).  It is very quick and easy.  Tape can easily be removed by ripping or being cut off.  As the tape conforms closely to the leg or tail it is very secure.
