Great results from the Genetics Australia Elite Genetic Merit sale

23rd Jan 2012

There were some outstanding results from the Genetics Australia Elite Genetic Merit sale held last week as part of International Dairy Week.

The sale averaged $5,700.00 - over $250,000.00 of stock were sold on the night.  There were sale lots from all dairy States and the animals went to NSW, Vic and Tasmania.

Top price was
Rengaw Cardinal Janea 2nd @$16400 to Adlejama Holsteins. Cardinal Janea 2nd has three half brothers in Horizon Team 2012 by Man o Man and the Shottle Dam scored VG87 is Aust no 2 ASI cow.

Three heifers made $13,000.00:

Jet Star Y-Shout Anastasia. A Yourshout out of Jetfinns dam - this family will have progeny in bull test teams being sampled both in Australia and Europe in 2012.

Manna Farm Cardinal Devonna, became the First heifer to sell in Australia with a Genomic Proof ( 258 APR 107 type 108 udders ).

The third heifer to reach $13000 was Rengaw Orana Jazz. This high asi Orana out of a Donante is from the same cow family as the top price lot.

It was interesting to note the continuous flow of people coming through the sale tent and commenting on the animals being prepared.
Comments like
• The Orana heifers certainly have the depth and spring of rib that his proof suggests
• You can see that the Jetfinns are going to pump the milk out as the two heifers catalogued certainly display super dairyness
• Excellent teat length on the Cardinal sired animals
